Yesterday I posted a link to a high school graduation speech by an American girl.

Today I read this reaction from a Swede:

A good speech indeed, though somewhat infested with the usual American individualist bullshit.



This I found ... baffling. Does the rest of world really have such a .... "hive" mentality? Hive isn't the right word, but I've been trying to come up with a better one for five minutes and failed so far.

Is the US the only country that openly cherishes individuality?
