@#$%@#$%@ BoA!
Oct. 17th, 2009 04:21 pmSo, I paid a mortgage payment on the web. I got a confirmation number that has the date imbedded in it, the date I actually paid the bill.
The date is *before* the date when there's a penalty/fee.
But then on the next bill there's a late charge.
So I called them up and said, "clearly there was a computer glitch, because you credited my payment a day after the day I paid, and I've got a confirmation number to prove it."
.... [looking, looking, thinking] "um, hold on..." [hold on a bit] "have we ever done a courtesy penalty waive for you in the past?"
"No, and this isn't one either, because your computers screwed up. I have a confirmation number that says I paid on time. Why don't you just correct the fee and we'll both be happy?"
"... Hold on" [holding... clicky clickity click click] "um..."
"no, seriously, this needs to be fixed by you taking away the charge, because Bank of America's computers screwed up. This isn't a favor you're doing me, this is a mistake on your part."
"hold on.... " [clicky clicky clickity click click] "Ok, because you've got a good payment history and we've never extended a courtesy penalty waive for you in the past I'm going to credit your account for the charge."
".... Uh... even though I paid on time and y'all screwed up? "
[silence]
"Ok, thanks"
Gah! What a bunch of clowns!
