His most recent "clever idea" is to give the AG the authority to run wiretaps.
It's presented in the context of elected officials betraying the public trust and taking bribes and increased penalties for all those things, which one might infer (if one were gullible) to only apply to that sort of offense.
But seriously, what could possibly go wrong? I mean, do we really need a judge to authorize a wiretap? That's so last century; you know back when we had a constitution.
