On Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me today they mentioned something stupid Rick Perry (I think) did, he called upon a quiet, still person at a rally. It turned out to be a mannequin. I'm only writing that part to explain why I typed "mannequin" into google. I was sitting in front of my computer, and I'm (nearly) always curious about what google images will give you on random words.

So, into google images goes "mannequin." One of the mouse overs of what seemed like a healthy (actually healthy, not a euphemism) woman brought up, "plus sized mannequin".

Just for fun, put plus size mannequin into google images.

I'll wait.

...

Ok, now that you've done that, were any of them what you'd consider "plus sized"? No? Not to me either.

A little googling suggests (this is not serious research) that "plus sized" starts at size 8 or 10, and most "normal" mannequins are closer to size 2.

How does this sell clothes? Do they make size 2 for the mannequins, and sizes 6-20 (or 40, I don't really understand women's clothing sizes) to actually sell? That's mostly rhetorical, I'm not looking for sociological answer. A marketing answer might be interesting though.
