2) I paid the vendor for the item with my (non-BoA) credit card
3) Vendor had logistical difficulties and didn't ship immediately
4) My credit card bill shows up with an unfamiliar charge, because the vendor's official name is totally unrelated to the DBA I was dealing with. (I couldn't think of any reason I'd spend money with an auto body paint shop in Nevada)
5) On March 3rd I call my credit card company and start a dispute for the charge.
6) On March 4th I realize what the charge is and call my credit card company back to un-dispute it. They do, and inform the vendor's credit card company.
7) Today (March 11th) I call the vendor and ask, "hey! Where's my stuff?" He says, "$logistical_problems, it's in a box ready to go today."
8) 20 minutes later I get a call from him saying they're not going to ship because I disputed the charge. I tell him that I un-disputed it a long time ago, and told him the story
9) I call my credit card company and get a full history: dispute started 3rd, my account was credited, vendor's CC company notified. March 4th they charged my account and notified the vendor's CC company. I got the confirmation number. My credit card company has done everything they can, so it's up to the vendor's company to issue the funds to him.
10) I call the vendor and tell him the confirmation number and what I was told. He tells me that BoA has told him *not* to ship, because it's been contested (with no mention of it being un-contested) and that charging the card again would be considered fraud.
so now, the vendor won't ship because BoA told him not to, and they won't let him charge again (threat of fraud) and they've been holding onto the money since March 4th. I'll do the math for you, that's over a week. These things should take 2-3 days according to my credit card company. BoA appears to be gaming the system to make money by holding onto funds longer than they should
Granted, the vendor is disorganized and kind of a wanker, but this is absurd.
