plastic containers must be expensive...
Jan. 28th, 2010 01:41 pmToday at Wallgreen's I bought a bottle of Ibuprofin. I first tried to buy a bottle of 225 pills, 'cuz I mis-read the price on the shelf as being about $6.
But it turns out that it was about $6/100, not per bottle, and the "$5 savings" didn't refer to the $11.99 in black, but as compared to a brand name of the same stuff.
Needless to say, when the register showed $11.99 I was surprised, and kinda irked. They sent someone to check (confirm) the price. Feh...
The bottle of 500 pills was only $12.99.
yes, that's right. $11.99 for 225, and the next 275 pills cost $1.
I guess that makes sense. The plastic bottle cost $10.99, so $1 for the first 225, and $1 for the next 275. That fits right in with the bottle of 10 (yes, ten) pills was smaller, and cost $6.
