I saw a bald eagle flying over the reservoir in Waltham/Weston next to Rt. 128.
I looked over and saw this huge dark bird with a white head and tail and thought... "bald eagle? Here? Seriously?" Yep. It sure was. I can't think of (and iBird confirms) there's nothing else that looks like that.
I remember when I was young all of us getting in the car and driving out somewhere difficult to get to because someone had seen a bald eagle there. It was a big enough deal that we took our binoculars and were happy to catch a tiny glimpse of it way across a big marsh.
Now we have red tailed hawks, coyotes, foxes, falcons, bears, and even bald eagles in eastern Massachusetts.
