Righthaven is the company that buys copyright from online publishers so they can sue anyone who quotes from those articles without permission. They've been going after small time bloggers who can't afford to fight the case, and generally settle for a couple thousand dollars.
Well, it turns out the courts think that's a legally questionable business plan, and Righthaven has suffered a bunch of significant losses recently. Enough losses that they have to reevaluate their business model, or maybe just disappear
